I would probably avoid the dirt road part if it ws Rainng. Heck, it's worth it even if you go the paved part and turn around and go back.

Last time I drove that road was with a now deceased uncle, on our way to go fishing! We stopped for a quick rest and my uncle took of his sweatshirt and stuffed it into the luggage rack on the roof of my VW baja bug. It was a warm summer night. Later down that washboard section I kept seeing a flickering
light behind me. Was it aliens??? Then I realized the
light was my engine on fire!!

I slammed on the
brakes and ran back to find my uncle's sweatshirt blown down on the exhaust and burning. I yanked it out before I thought and burned my hand pretty good, but the engine was saved, my hand eventually healed, and we caught a bunch of fish
