Will interested 787 owners qualify on our forum for "lightweight molded fiber-glass recreation vehicles"?

LOL, good question!

As an Aviation employee and huge airplane fan, of over 25 years, I was so pleased to see the Boeing 787 finally take to the Air yesterday!
(Video available on the Boeing site)

It is made up of just over 50% Carbon Fibre, in addition to the usual Aluminum components, which saves on overall Aircraft weight, extends the range, and offers better fuel efficiency per seat mile.

Now, Hmmmm, I am not sure if any of us has a suitable vehicle to tow it, lol?

Cheers, Jake.

hmmmm.... not sure that "molded carbon fibre" qualifies as molded fiberglass. Perhaps the executive committee needs to meet.
And, after discussing it, they should consider sending either (depending on their decision) an INVITATION to Boeing to join the group OR a preemptive notice that, alas, their product - while intriguing - does not meet the criteria for inclusion in our group.

Wouldn't it qualify as a motorhome? Self propelled, comes with a galley and can be equipped for sleeping...

Guess you would have to call it a Fflamper - (fiber flying camper).

I think it flew over my house about 6 times yesterday according to the news reports. I di not see it since it was above the cloud layer. Bummer.

In 50 years, people will be turning the retired ones into "unique" homes. I like the Fflamper.
