Are you planning to leave the styrofoam insulation in? I would, it will give you a little insulation. And then cover it with paneling or 1/8"ish plywood stained or painted to give it a finished easy to care for interior.

Welcome Rachael! OMG... I mean ... This is Unique and HUGE! Don't think I have ever seen anything like it... Can't wait to see your progress. I am so sure you can turn it into your own personalized camper. There are many great redos on campers here within this clubsite, you will be amazed at what people can do themselves. Go for it!

Yeah, I am going to leave the remaining styrofoam in. Are there some steps I can take to cheaply insulate the camper that would help to keep it cool?

Rachel, many people and a few manufacturers use this; The World’s Largest Manufacturer of Reflective Insulation and Radiant Barrier Products
It adds a little insulation and a radiant barrier. Though as others have mentioned these fiberglass trailer warm up pretty fast, so I would think anything you add would be of benefit. I would also add a Fantastic Fan/vent to be able to move that air around. We use our to exhaust air and also blow air in depending on the conditions.

I went ahead and ordered some of the reflective insulation off of amazon. Hopefully, we will install it, get started on the wiring and try to get that big back door open on Monday. So much work to do but it is so damn cold here! I am eager to get this set up and moved into!
Thanks for all the advice so far!

Yep; time for me to get out of the grind and chase down my dreams of dreamy crocodile filled lagoons and jungle pyramids while living in a little space wagon! I've never really been the responsible sort

Ok, ok, now that I have had a coffee, I am awake. You may find that it may take you some time to finish. What is your target date to full time in your trailer?

We are heading out tomorrow to buy materials to fix the wiring for the trailer lights and to try to support the roof and combat the rear sag. I was told by my mechanic to use aluminum channelling to fix around the door and provide support. Does anyone have any other suggestions or advice?
Thank you!
