This may be the best website ever

It's rare for me to find a place on the "interwebs" that after a few times trying to use it I discard it out of frustration. I have been more than delighted with this site, everything from politeness of participants to functionality of the technology, to usefulness of the information it contains.
The ability to switch from desktop view to mobile view makes it a "stand out" amongst all other sites. While there are things being marketed here, they are passive, you can shop if you want or not shop. So kudoes to whoever runs it and kudoes to to the people using it.

Most websites can be switched from desktop view to mobile view, at least on the iPhone. Not my intention to burst any bubbles, but I can assure you that if you hang around FGRV long enough, you will ultimately encounter a small number of participants who will demonstrate a lack politeness and civility.

Participation is dwindling as older folks age out and younger folks gravitate toward newer platforms and smaller tribes. I was amused to see “Conservative Casita Owners” among my suggested Facebook groups (sounds like a nasty church split). I think most of the drama has gone over there, but there’s no doubt you’ll get faster brand-specific technical answers.

This forum has its share of contention in older threads, mostly surrounding the “Three T’s”: tow ratings, tire pressure, and toilets. Search any of them for hours of entertaining readingt!

FiberglassRV is a great place to start for exploring different brands. But its greatest asset is its extensive archives, with a trove of useful information and photos easily searchable. Sadly many of the authors are no longer with us, but their experience is.

I saw that same FB suggestion, to each his/her own tribe, I prefer the roomier tent even as I'm about to move to a smaller travel trailer. I have already gotten a good amount of institutional knowledge here without a side of judgment. I will find out a lot come March as I tow from Texas to Fl. with my Tacoma. I am fairly confident with my current set-up as the Casita is (at least on paper) about 1400 lbs. lighter than my current Aspen Trail. I opted for Anderson Hitch and solar port and eventually will get the LiFePO battery and solar suitcase. At that point I'll be reaching out here for advice on what all components I will need to make boondocking more possible.
