Maybe the property values will go up and the road up the mountain will become four lane. Yah, sounds like it would be time to find another place to call home if this works out but do you really think they will be willing to rough it that much?

I've never watched the show. From what little I've been forced to consume since they cover this game show on the news it strikes me as something roughly on par with your typical "sign of the coming apocalypse". Holding somebody up for public ridicule isn't something I find entertaining. I don't think I'd want to be anywhere near that freak show either.

OK now, not that I would want to live near any mayhem (if that is what that would turn out to be), I watch and like Idol! No one forces any of those people to go and audition. What on earth is wrong with young people taking a chance on something they want, working hard at it and risking dissapointment. Personally, I think Hollywood and company are FAR to full of themselves, but I do LOVE music and enjoy watching good talent get a chance. What is Idol Camp anyway?

Okay, folks. Simmer down now. Let's don't get into a fuss about American Idol! (Some of my best friends and family members watch it, but I don't - so I can see both sides.)

Sharon has a good question, though: what's this Idol camp about? Do wannabees come and dream of auditions? Is it just another theme for another summer camp? At the end of August 2008, will it shut down in favor of a move to a different location in summer 2009? Inquiring minds, and all that...

It's a summer camp for rich kids. I think they "Groom" would be contestants for a mere 3k out of mommy and daddys bank account.

For that kind of dough, they had not only groom, but primp, and hand feed too.

I am somehow doubting the kiddies will be sleeping in tents and chasing bears.
