A suggestion - the albums are a great source for seeing and comparing what's in the world of eggs. Would it be possible to add trailer measurements and other basic info? Also - when folks list trailers for sale, giving the same info would be useful. When eggs are for sale elsewhere, or even on FGRV, I find I often have to search the Internet to get more details. Being a curious sort, and looking for our next trailer, I like to compare apples to oranges, or Bolers to Burros to Bigfoots.

I am grateful to Roger H. and Per for answering many of my recent questions along this line, but thought maybe there would be a way to include this in the album section - or elsewhere. If it's here I haven't found it.

I think the rub is the "basic info" statement. When it comes to fiberglass trailers, nothing is "basic" for long. For instance, we currently have two topics going on, on how to enlarge beds.

However, if you'd like to start compiling the information, we could certainly find a place to post it

Yes, I realize many, if not most, (including ours) FGRVs have been "personalized", but measurements tend to stay the same. I just thought along with the photos of the different makes and models measurements could be added (some obviously give length). A Burro that sold on EBay recently was sold by a person who obviously didn't get the outer measurements before purchasing it himself. He may have thought (or didn't think at all about it!) all FBRVs were the same width - then found out the extra width didn't fit through his gate!

Just a suggestion, maybe it's info most people aren't that concerned about when "shopping around" or looking to "upgrade" to a different trailer.

Well I think its a grand idea, and I'm certainly not the type to step on enthusiasm. As I said, if you wish to gather and compile the information, we'll find a place to post it. It could be something as simple as an Excel spreadsheet. If you'd like to take this on, place a request for info in the "Care and Feeding" forum of exactly want you want. Folks can either send you a PM or e-mail from there.

I edited my post to be more clear - it was the seller on Ebay who couldn't fit it through his yard gate - thus he was selling it - to some lucky person whose "trigger" finger was faster than mine in the "bidding" frenzy!

But we digress.......

I could see the following as very useful:

Actual length of trailer
Actual length overall
Standing room inside
Actual height overall
(bed size already compiled)

Those things would not change with modifications, except maybe height overall, since tires and axles can be changed, and you could ask people to note whether they knew if the trailer had been raised or lowered.
