We are leaving on the 19th of August for Nova Scotia. We would like to stop the first night somewhere in eastern Quebec that is close to Hwy 20 on the south shore of the St. Lawrence. Does anyone know of a campground in this area?

Hi Barbara...our August 2 trip to PEI (to the Fiberglass with Class/ Fiddlers' Jamboree) is going to take us through Vermont and Maine, crossing over at Calais/ St.Stephens. Its a nice scenic trip on hwy 2 from Montpelier VT to Bangor ME and takes you back out along the Bay of Fundy. We avoid the T Can in PQ...too durn fast! I like to keep the Trill at about 100k's max. Just a thought...have a great trip and enjoy a lobster roll and a Schooner :>)

Hi Barbara - We live in Montreal and so never have to camp in Quebec (the TCan is no faster than anywhere else as far as we are concerned) on the way to PEI. If you can make it as far as Edmonston NB, there is a lovely campground called Les Jardins Botanique du Nouveau Brunswick (bilingual province) - it means "The Botanical Gardens of New Brunswick". right on the border of Quebec and NB We usually stop there on our way home and have always liked it, shady sites and clean restrooms as well as tbe adventure of visiting their botanical gardens gratis. Don't forget those "Digby Scallops". Have a great time and do seriously think of staying at the "Gardens" - it's really worth it.

Pick up the Provincial visitor's guide for every Province you think you'll visit -- Excellent guides and each includes a complete listing of CGs, inc facilities and pricing. If you have time, you can call the 1-800 numbers and have them mailed, but it takes a while.

Thanks all. Alistair, we would really like to stay in Canada as we don't have passports. There are four of us going and I'm the only one born in Canada. The others were all born in Italy but are Canadian citizens. Lloyd, we will consider NB but would like something closer for the first night. Pete, I requested info from all provinces we will be going through but unfortunately Quebec didn't send very good info for camping and no maps. Every other province sent really great info.

Barbara, this sounds like great fun! Many years ago, we went from Minnesota to Montreal, Quebec City, through Nova Scotia, and on to Cape Breton. It was a great trip that I'd like to take again. In fact, we went two years in a row, pulling a pop up. One year we stayed at the Bay of Fundy and dug clams when the tide was out. What a great experience! And, we also went south into Maine and New Hampshire with Acadia Park just a fantastic experience, once again getting a site on the Sea.

Please post your finds, would you? I may have to travel in your footsteps!

Cheers!
