Just had a smile cross my face. Even though it’s not a laughing matter they just announced that they were having some heavy thunderstorms in Tripoli Iowa. I thought of you and your initial research call on the Boler/Love Bug research you were doing.
For those who do not know there was a fire at the
boler factory in Tripoli and then the molds which were amazingly out of the building when the fire occurred that night were
sold locally and used to make the Love Bugs. Roy called the city clerk for a history lesson but pronounced the town name like it is pronounced in the Marine Hymn. The clerk was put off and corrected him that it was Trip-O-La and hung up. I don’t think she was really an Iowan, we wouldn’t do that especially to a nice Canadian Gentleman like Roy. Smile Roy.
