Verde Valley Az
Any fiberglassers in the Verde Valley? Of so and the mood strikes you stop bu Rancho Verde RV Park on Horseshoe Bend Dr. for conversation. My Escape 19 is the only fiberglass trailer in the park. I’m here from Michigan until the end of March. Hoping to meet some people who are part of the fiberglass “cult” as my son referred to those of us fiberglassers.

Bob, we'll be Camp Verde in that time frame but without the Casita. We'll stop by and say Hi, PM me.

Been thinking long and hard about a winter AZ destination with the camper. We really don't care for Florida, which is the one place near us with mild winters. And we love the west.
One huge advantage with Florida is the cheap flights from FL to home (Allegiant Airlines). My wife can't be away from home for three or four months straight.

We plan to stay north of you for a bit at Dead Horse State Park in Cottonwood again next year, and will likely be there in mid to late February. Exploring that area, including around Sedona, was our favourite place to stay on our 6 week trip earlier this year.
If you want to meet lots of fiberglassers, head to the Quartzite rally in early February for a few days.
I also want to spend a bit of time west of you in the Prescott area. Just drove through last year and saw lots of interesting stuff.

If you plan to camp in Prescott be aware it can get very cold in the winter. I lived there for about 8 years and saw a 60" snow fall in Dec. of 1968. I've seen water pipes freeze many times in our house. It can also be very nice in the winter. Loved Prescott and go there still.

Bob, join Paula & I (and about 15 other fiberglass trailers) in Sedona Dec 6,7,& 8th for the SW Scamp Camp. We’ll be staying at Rancho Sedona RV park. Jim is right about joining a couple hundred other fiberglass enthusiasts in Quartzsite AZ at dome rock (BLM free dispersed camping) in February (check the rally map located in the “more” section up top of this page).

Bill, Allegiant flys out of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway airport. Mesa & Apache Junction has no shortages of RV parks, as well as county, state, and forrest service parks.
Go to “Lost Dutchman State Park” and check out their website and pictures of the area. We are Blessed enough to live less than a mile from there. I think you two will really enjoy this part of the country in the winter.

Dave: Great Park! Booked solid of course, I'll have to start planning for 2020.....
I really need to get out there for three or four weeks to at least get a feel for the choices.
I've been camping to Utah many times, but its too cold in the winter.

Thanks for the heads up, Jann. When we drove through there in late February this year, it was not too bad. Not exactly hot weather though. Just a week or two earlier in Cottonwood we had frost two nights.
I have not really started looking for places to camp yet, do you (or anyone) have any recommendations?

I’ve been staying winters in the Verde Valley for probably more than 10 years. Everything you could want or need is here and there must be at least 15 rv parks and one state park.
