They have improved quite a bit since they started several years ago. It is a real convenience to have a program with all (or most) of the information on your computer. Especially when you don't have an internet connection handy. A quick cross check revealed that they are still missing some military rv sites.

Here is the Army MWR site that has what is probably the master list of Military campgrounds. Army MWR site Apparently they are going to move it in May, so the link will be changing.

I am a veteran myself -101st Airborne, Vietnam- but I haven't found a military campground that I can use. To my knowledge, they are for active-duty or retired military only. The ones I checked were in Alaska. Do you know of military campgrounds in the lower-48 that accept all veterans?

The Fort McCoy, WI camp ground accepts anyone - or so they did several years ago when we camped there. It was a good campground.

Thank you Frederick for finding the right link. It was a lot of info to wade through, but it seems to confirm what I learned at the Alaska facilities. A veteran who serves a one-time enlistment, as millions of us did, are generally not eligible to participate in the military recreation programs. I understand and accept that. There are far too many of us and the resources of the military would soon be overwhelmed. I first researched this about ten years ago when I became interested in fiberglass trailers. I discovered that the Air Force base outside Anchorage had Scamps and Casitas for rent. I was disappointed, but not surprised, that I could not participate in the military recreation services. But they had really nice people working there that let me inspect those trailers. I liked what I saw and soon found one to buy.
