Vintage Scamps

How old does a Scamp need to be when considered Vintage? Mine is a "92".

We have a 1991 Scamp 16 and our son has a 1977 Scamp 13. I'm sure there's older units than his.

We did attend the summer Vintage Fiberglass Rally in PEI and were very welcome. It was interesting to go thru a lot of older units, sort like meeting a branch of the family.

its not there yet Mary Ann .... put I attend a number of vintage rallys and those who know the actual age of my trailer tell me not to worry about it as no one can tell what year it really is unless someone tells them

Generally vintage is considered over 25 years but in the vintage trailer world many of the groups consider 30 years or older the true vintage.

Vintage is anything over 25 years old and Antique is anything over 50 years old. So having said that, I am an Antique guy who owns a Vintage Boler.

Technically correct Rick but I have a hunch that OP is questioning what the Vintage trailer rally crowd considers vintage and in my experience it depends on the group some say 25 years and older and other groups want them to be 30 years or older.

Doesn't really matter though as most of the vintage groups will allow those of us with none vintage trailers to attend and just ask that you set up slight off to the side from the actual vintage trailers.

At the Martine Vintage Rally in PEI we were all mine together, a totally friendly experience. When we registered I don't recall them even asking God rig age. A wonderful rally with about 60 rigs.

Thats how it is at many of the Vintage gatherings here in BC and Washington as well but most do ask that you post a sign with the trailer details in the window and at one or two of the meets as I said they do request you don't park in the middle of the real vintage trailers with your trailer doesnt meet what ever age they have set as being vintage.

But its been pointed out more than once to me that if there was someone I really wanted to camp with I could adjust the age on my trailer sign as there are few that would know how old my trailer is or isn't -give or take a few years, as Scamps haven't changed much over the years. ;-)

I learned along time ago never ask a girl her age and I would never call a gal vintage or antique. It hurts when you have to pick yourself up off the floor.
