Just parked and covered mine but the weather hit 70 yesterday here in Maine, and friends are still talking about mini trips....Ugh...Spring can not come fast enough or at least winter to start so I wont be looking out the window wishing I was going camping.

Yes, in Florida we have two seasons: 7 months of Spring from mid-October through mid-May and 5 months of Summer, AKA, Hell. Anyway, Summer temps have been compared to those in Hell!

I just checked the average temps in Florida. There are actually 5 months of summer, and 7 months of Hell!

Maybe another year, this winter I have to focus on the Boler 50th Anniversary Event organizing. There is a ton of work with it.

No doubt on that, Ian. There certainly are a lot of us looking forward to it, and all the fun we will have.

Actually, the Florida version of Hell is delineated by the relative humidity. While warm, 80° temps are not bad if it is pretty much dry. Humidity generally starts around the first week in June and ends 2nd or 3rd week in October. For those who live here and are acclimated to higher temps than many other locations, any time the humidity is absent is Heavenly!
When I lived in NH (pre-85), there were 5 months of summer, 5-1/2 months of Hell, and 1-1/2 months of Mud!

I do understand how humidity affects temperature extremes. Here in Calgary it is usually dry which helps deal with cold. Humidity and cold is much more bone chilling. Humidity and heat starts me melting.

Here in the SoCal desert, the summer temps run 110-125 with generally 10-12 % humidity. You do get acclimated to it and it's doable. Last year during our month long monsoon season the humidity went up into the 50s...can you say sauna? Reminded me of living back east. The heat I can do, humidity stops me dead in my tracks. My town is also divided into two seasons, summer and tourists.

Native Canadian flesh starts to melt at 100°F, no matter what the humidity is.
Funny though, I can handle the heat in a sauna for a while, but it seems when you have that heat outside in the sun, it amplifies immensely.
We were hitting 95°F with high humidity in Peurto Vallarta a couple weeks back, and when I went for a walk on the beach, in the sun, after drinking a fishbowl size margarita not light on booze, I thought I would die. Only the pool back at the hotel saved me.

When we lived on the North shore of Lake Superior, we advertised our weather as "10 months of winter, and 2 months of 'tough-sledding'". Now retired, 500 miles further south, we have about 6 months of delightful winter-solitude; and then, 6 months of 'tourist/cottagers'. No heat problems, ever ! But, we had to drain the water lines to our out-buildings to-day.

Waiting for spring... NOT
Summer is when everybody thinks it's time to occupy the campgrounds, all of them. Winter is the time to camp with a few less people around. One of the reasons to have a trailer is to be able camp in the winter and not be tied to summer and bugs. One of guys that used to be here refered to his Scamp as a rotary air conditioner. The wheels would roll to a place where the weather agrees with his clothes, That would mountains and north in the summer and winter deserts is the winter.
It's getting pretty close to the time to make like a bird and head south for the winter.
