Sometimes people mention buying things at Wally World, so I tried to visit a website of that name and got somewhere I did not expect! To put it kindly, it's an adult site. Is there actually an rv store of this name?

Aint the english language interesting.
A guy by the name of Sam Walton bought a 5 and 10 cent store in Bentonville, AR. He renamed in Walton's 5 and 10 cent store. He grew the store by providing good merchandise at good price and excellant customer service.
He started expanding into new stores and changed the name to Wal-Mart.
In 1993 Sam had a heart attack and died. At that time the old 5 & 10 cent store was still in Bentonville. I'm not sure if it was a museum before he died or not.
I think the museum is worth a vist if you're ever in the area.
His orginal office was closet. After Wal-Mart took off he moved into a real office, but not extravant. After he died, his then office complete with books stacked as he left them and papers on the desk were moved into the museum. Along with his old beat up pick-up truck.
I had to make a business trip to that area about 10 years ago and spent about 3 hours in that museum.
Now it seems that Wal-Mart is better know for it's cheap merchandise and carries the nick-name Wally World.
If corporate America hasn't change the museum it's worth a visit to see how it all started, what made it work at the time, and what has changed.

"Wally World" is used in reference to "Wal-Mart", but came into common use after the 1983 movie "National Lampoon's Vacation" was released, referring to the fictional amusement park destination "Wally World" and the quest of the Griswold family.
I guess lots of folks (including me sometimes) find some connection between a huge retail store and an amusement park. I usually find closer parallels between the Griswolds' trip to Wally World and my trips to Wal-Mart!

Personally, I find nothing amusing about going to WalMart. Too much traffic, too many s-l-o-w people, and too much stuff from China.

About nine years ago, I had just had Internet hooked up in my 2nd/3rd grade classroom. Since it was the first classroom in the school to have the Internet, I was always trying to do a "sell job" on the other teachers to show them the valuable resources available. Early one morning, the kindergarten teacher and I were sitting at the computer trying to look up information about the White House. I put ".com" in the address instead of ".gov". Oh my! We couldn't hit the close button fast enough.
