Weight of Burro 14' Widebody

Does anyone know the dry weight of a Burro 14' Widebody? I'm trying to rule them in or out based on what my vehicle limits are. Thanks!

Lisa, my first FB trailer was a 14' Burro wide body. I towed it with my 05 toyota Tacoma 4 cyl.
I never weighed it but a guess would be around 1400 lbs. I finally sold it because it was just a little to much for my Toyota to pull when in a head wind. It has a massive frontal area compared to the Scamps. My Scamp weighs about 1550 lbs when ready for the road and I have no problems with it.

Hi Lisa,
I think the Dry Weight is 1400 lbs. Once loaded along with Gross weight (Refrig, stove top etc), I would put it at 1800 to 2000 lbs approx. I am sure there is someone that has one of these babies that can confirm that. I bet I am fairly close. They are pretty cool looking. I almost considered one 2 years ago when I seen a pretty nice one for around $4,000. Good Luck!

Lisa, like all these trailers, it depends on how it's equipped. With a bath (which implies holding tanks and a water heater) it'll be about 400 lbs heavier than without. Based on what we know about the dry weights of other similar-sized trailers, I would think that John Perry's guess of 1400 lbs dry without a bath or air conditioning would be pretty close on the Burro 14.

The brochure for the year 1999-2000 Burro models lists the following:

17' has a dry weight of 1900lbs, 125lbs tongue weight.
(Mine has an on-the-road weight close to 3100lbs and a tongue weight of about 275 lbs).

14' has a listed weight of 1100lbs, 100lbs tongue weight.

In the tradition of such brochures, the weights are without any options at all (judging from the disparities probably not even air in the tires).

Actually weighing them on a real-live scale is the ONLY way to tell.

Another guage.. FWIW.. my 13 was 1400 fully loaded. The 14 is much bigger. I can see 14-1800 dry.

The infamous Burro website that is still up shows a Bath/shower for 17' only.
But I thought some 14's had them, maybe I am wrong.
I know there was a reason I was attracted to the 14 at one time, I thought it was a bath.

I just looked at the 14 foot Widebody Burro in the Albums. Don't see a bathroom, but that doesn't mean there wasn't one in the one you have seen.

Thank you one and all for your input. It looks like I'll rule out the Burro Widebody due to towing weight constraints. But they sure looked nice for me and all my pups!

Yep, there was at least one 14' Burro produced with a front bath. I used to have the photos of it from when it was for sale a couple of years back, but I can't seem to put my hands on them. I'll see if I can find them later. Pete, the 17' front bath floorplan that I have in the albums didn't show up on the Burro website either.
