I understand...........I began collecting some "rooster" items and when we tried
to do our kitchen in a rental, all the fabric, curtains, etc. dried up. I thought that
just happened to me.........LOL

Carl,
You are definitely on a roll! Trays are so handy whilst camping. We have 2 trays 10 1/2" x 13 1/2". We use them both indoors and out. We can haul recipe ingredients, place settings, whatever, back and forth to/from the trailer and picnic table. We set the table using the trays as placemats and can easily haul used plates to the clean-up area.

'Can hardly wait to see your updates!

That's a great idea Gilda. Will have to keep a look out for larger ones.
I picked these up because they were so small since our trailer table is small.
Keeps the sweating glasses and stuff contained so can easily be wiped up with a towel.

We do carry trays in the vehicles most times.
If you stop at a drive-in, etc. it can be frustrating trying to handle cokes
condiments and food since these vehicles are a lot smaller than in my day.
The tray really takes away frustration..............miss those A&W rootbeer stands
with those window trays............LOL

Well, my granddaughter just came and I showed her these pics.
She likes the cup magnets on the cabinet better than on the fridge.
Guess I'll leave them there unless I find something I like better.
These are all just temporary testings right now. But may be the
finished product. They were only a dollar so I could buy another
set and have them on both locations.........LOL

Last night I dug out my Navy photo album, what's left of it.
Found my Shellback Card and copied it and took a picture of it.
Then I transferred it to my wife's computer as she has a color printer.
Thought I might be able to work it into my scheme some how. Or, maybe not.
You can tell this was back in the "typewriter" era........lol

Today I hit several more stores to pick up some more of these:

But those stores either didn't have them or sold out.
So as I was coming home, I went on to the next town where I bought them
and they didn't have any more..............drats!

But when I got home to my surprise the two items I had ordered arrived a couple days early.

This is a brass plague that I ordered to go over the bed area:

And this is a Navy Style clock to go on the opposing wall so I can see the time
when I'm still in bed. Those little lighted clocks I just can't make out.

Here it is at a broader view:

Not sure, but may need to switch places with the clock and coat rack later.

Only if you need to see the clock IF the coats are hanging up...Ha ha! It all looks real good! I see lots of fun times to be had there.

Happy Camping

The son and d-i-l and kids are up from Florida for the week.
Wife took the kids to the movies today to stop the nagging........lol.
Since they were gone, it's another grandpa day to roam around.

So I made it back to my OOPS store and picked up two more of the door knockers. I'll be painting at least one of them to see how I like it better.

I hit several Dollar General and Family Dollar stores making a wide loop
out and back. Seemed I just could not find the items I was looking for.
But on the last leg of my adventure I found some similar items and got
them for half price as they were on clearance.

One store I found a soap dispenser and salt/pepper shakers. Matching cups.
On the last store before getting home I stopped and they had an
ample supply of the coffee cup magnets. I didn't buy all they had, but
got more than I needed.

When it comes to cameras and picture taking.....ALL my grandkids are "hams."

Just a "Look at my grandkids picture." This is the youngest one who just had
to pose on a newly acquired supply of TP.

No more SEARS/ROEBUCK in the outhouse for me.

Happy Birthday Carl. Have a great year! You've got me beat by a month and a few days. I'll be 64 on Sept 4. Your Snoozy is really coming together. Love the items you got today. That plaque & clock are great. Maybe you can blow up the Shellback card and frame it. Its got great color and graphics. You're on a roll!

Haven't done much in this arena. Just so much going on
the last month or so.

Today we did do a little shopping for another project.
A few days ago I ran across my old giant tackle box I used
when doing crafts hard and heavy. I thought "cool" now I can
paint my door knocker. But the paints were completely dried
up and my brushes hard as a pencil.

So I found a new supply in the crafts department at Wally World.
I'm thinking it may have been 20 years or even more since I've
done this.

While I was working on my "other" project http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ozy-60313.html
I also changed the arrangement of my hat rack and clock.......LOL
So I should be able to see the clock now even when the
coat rack is in use..........

Moved Curtain

While doing some project work, I moved my one and only
window curtain from the kitchen area to over the couch window.

I'd settle for some snow. It's been a long time since we've had any
that amounted to much. I love snow, if it snowed. But I hate flurries
that only dump enough to make everything muddy and nasty......LOL

I finally found a suitable spot for my chrome rope cleat for my
psuedo-navy theme. Attached to shower/toilet door. Now wife
can hang her purse there or on the coat rack......she has a choice.
Or this could be a good place to hang a robe if I had one.

Its looking good Carl. Its amazing how just a few decorative items personalize the interior and make it feel so much more homey. I like that cleat idea for a hanging hook.
