Several years ago we suggested to our kids & grandkids that they make charitable contributions instead of getting us gifts. Our elder son gave a financial contribution to a local food pantry where we live. Our younger son and his wife made a contribution to the Parkinsons foundation (my wife has Parkinsons), and our grandkids gave to Toys for Tots. All are glad to do this and, at our ages, there isn't much we need and anything we want we can afford to buy. This arrangement makes us happy and helps others. Merry Christmas to you all.
