What’s in a name

Does everyone name their camper? I have never named any of my vehicles so coming up with a name for my Casita has been hard. Any suggestions? Or should I just let it go and not name it

I have never felt it necessary to name inanimate objects! But my F-150 has earned the name LUCIFER. It is indeed possessed, and my MKS Lincoln, previously re-possessed, is Lilith ; Hebrew: She is a demonic figure in Judaic mythology, supposedly the primordial she-demon and alternately first wife of Adam, the Scamp is just the Scamp. I sure your Casita will some day earn a name.

We have never named our RV's and continue to not do so. I don't feel it is necessary either.

Naming your casita

I've owned my Casita for ten years. My husband and I are birders and especially like cranes.
So we named our Casita 'Grus Egg", "Grus" is the latin name for the genus cranes.

It will come to you. Think of what you like, why you're camping, what you do when you. Are you a birder? Most Casita owners refer to their camper as an 'egg', so there's lots of plays on that.

Your handle is Mare. I call our tow vehicle Big Horse because I'm a horseman and it's a big truck.

It may come to you, and it may not. I see there are lots of folks that don't name their campers or their cars or trucks. I happen to name mine because I keep my cars forever. One of them is 22 years old.

I am glad to see that I am not the only person that names my ‘toys’.
I named my my motorcycle pop-up trailer ‘Home Away From Home’ and my 2020 Casita is ‘Day Tripper’ (Beatle’s song).
I have four Camaros: ‘Jackie’, ‘Jenny’, ‘Joanie’, and ‘Julie’. The next one will be ‘Jillie’. All start with the letter ‘J’ and then the next letter is done with different vowels.
I have four Chevy trucks: ‘Bubba’, ‘The Toy’, ‘Dirty Black B…..’ (a black truck that gets and stays dirty), and ‘Big Rig’, the Duramax.
My ‘56 Chevy is ‘Blue’ and my Boss Mustang was ‘The War Toy’.
My Pearl White Goldwing is ‘White Angel’ and my “Murdered out” black Harley is ‘Black Magic’.
All of my cat’s names have started with the letter ‘D’.
Yeah, I guess that I get carried away ….a little. LOL

I never had a Camaro, WT, but my younger brother lusted for that model. I had left home by the time he bought his. Sometimes I think twenty something testosterone and gasoline are a dangerous mix. He named his Camaro "Ticket" because...of all the speeding tickets he got while driving it.

My 99 Toyota tacoma is "Tomboy".

“Twenty something”? LOL
I bought ‘Julie’ after my divorce and I was 51! She was beginning to be my trouble maker. Until I got her, I hadn’t received a ticket since 1986. Then ‘bang’ I got two for 11 mph over (one month after getting her and six months later). I drove her to Angelo on one of those days and she loves to run, so I let her go at Bronte …. and just let her breathe and run. I got to Angelo, slowed down, joined a few other cars, and then the radar got ‘us’, but being the ‘bright red fancy hot rod’ behind everyone else, I got the ticket.
I still want a 1968 Camaro SS with the big block 396 in it. My Jenny is a GMMG PE with a 600+ hp 427 (1 of 2 convertibles made). I think your brother would like my collection.
“Testosterone”? Nah, just my mind telling me I am thirty something , when my body says that is only in my head, cuz my body is way older! LOL

Eggstacy

My 1st camp trailer was a gutted out 1971 Compact Jr. I did not bother to name it (when I bought it in 2000). I refitted the interior and towed it with a 1991 Toyota Camry V6LE station-wagon. When I blew out the main bearing in the drive shaft, I replaced the car with a 2003 Honda Odyssey LX. Then I found my 1978 Fiber Stream 16 in 2004 and sold the Compact Jr. As a play on words, I named the total rig (tow vehicle and trailer) The Odyssey and the Eggstacy after the movie The Agony and the Ecstasy.

1n 2010 I bought my old 1971 Compact Jr. back. I totally dismantled it and did a frame-off restoration, naming it Boomerang because it came back.

In 2020 I replaced the now 17 year old Odyssey with a 2020 Ford Transit Crew. And in July 2021 I sold the Compact Jr. again.
