I'm a cube dweller.
I work in the Mason City office of the largest insurance company in Iowa. Des Moines is the insurance capitol of the US!
In a nutshell, I consult companies on their retirement plans (mainly 401k) giving advice on plan design and investment selection. I also perform annual testing to make sure they are following the IRS rules (there are a lot of IRS rules).
Here's a picture of myself and my coworkers outiside our building. We employ about 400 people at my location. Roughly 10,000 employees world wide.
I'm in the back with an orange t shirt on.

My current work is as the Network and Server Administrator for a major medical products manufacturer. A fairly busy and very interesting job (I'm in Copenhagen today for example and will be in Britain and Ireland before the week is out) but pictures of computers and server rooms would not likely fascinate many.
At some point in the past I have also been a Transit Bus Driver, a Touring Coach Driver, and many, many moons ago was a chef's apprentice for about half year (love cooking - hate restaraunt work). However I.T. is my love and I have been working it in one way or another for almost 20 years now.

I'm a member of the Air Force. They tell me that I'm a surgical technician but I'm attemting to become a RN. This was one of the photos that I sent my commander from Iraq. I swear that she was trying to get me killed. Ellie works at Hardee's as a shift manager and William is thinking about being a mountain climber.

I'm an RN at the oldest hospital in the Northwest. I have several pairs of purple gloves that look just like Jackie's.
Here I am the night I picked up the LittleFoot.

I retired 4 1/2 years ago with 31 years in the military. If I'm not camping, you'll find me out on my boat fishing for I am a fisherman for life. It's not something I do. it is who I am. Fishing is not an escape. It is where I am supposed to be. It is not a place, but a lifelong journey. It is a passage my father showed me and I will show others. I will always be a fisherman.

At the moment I almost feel like a jack of all trades and master of none. There's only 4 of us left at this facility. We manufacture a product under the trademark "RoadWatch". It's an IR themometer that measures the road surface temperature while in motion and the air temperature. Big difference between air and road surface temperature. As I said Jack of all trades, or close to it. Primarily an Electronic Engineer, but do a little of everything else associated with electronic manufacturing. I won't bore you with all the hats I have hanging around.
Here's a picture of me doing a bit of software writing for test and evaluation purposes.

I don't have any pix of myself as I am always the one doin the pic takin in our household.
I am 56 years old and worked almost all my life on either of our two railways up here in Canada. I have a few short stints doing painting (houses, schools and larger buildings, my THIRD love), plus a short stint workin on "the killing floor" with my ol Winnipeg pal Burton.
Currently, and untill I retire (only 624 more working days!!) I am a "Transportation Specialist" for the Sleepy R (C.P.R.) being a conductor/yard foreman now heading up a crew that works yard locomotives entirely by remote control

I wear many hats on any given day. I was a debt collector for 16 years (last 5 I was the manager for the legal department.) I still do some debt collecting for about 5 or 6 businesses around town from time to time. I have also have done bookkeeping as a side job off and on for years. Currently I am a stay at home mom and housewife. In the past year I have been doing estates sales for people that do not want to deal with their loved ones belongings. This past summer I also got into doing some wedding/party planning and I am currently in charge of all party, dance and event planning for my youngest daughters school. I am also an avid antique collector of many things and in the near future I plan on selling antiques and collectibles on ebay. Have to make this computer and my hobby pay for itself somehow. I am also thinking about starting up an antique glass and silverware locating service. You break a bowl to grandmas china set and I locate another one for you. Still in the thinking stage on that one.
As far as my husband, Berry goes he is a construction worker/builder and remodeler. Before getting into construction he worked for the Northwestern Pacific Railroad repairing the track and keeping the line open. The railroad finally went belly-up in our area so he moved on to construction. Berrys hobbies are collecting railroad items and other collectibles and fishing.
Thats our story. Not very exciting but it pays the bills and allows us to travel around in our little Burro from time to time.

I'm a mailman. And what do I do when I have time off?
I go hiking!
(Go figure.) Classic busman's holiday syndrome.
Here I am hiking the Black Mountain Crest Trail in my home state of North Carolina. Often called "the toughest trail in the eastern USA", I must concur. I've hiked it twice and as I've been hiking and backpacking for over 30 years, I have to say it's the toughest trail I've experienced.
