I enjoyed reading what others do for a living Interesting. I was reminded of story a few years ago when my daughter kindergarden teacher called and asked what I did for a living. I asked why did she want to know. She stated each kid in class stood up and told the class what there dads and moms did. My daughter stated " My dad argues for living"!

I explained to the teacher I work from home and the road as Multi line adjuster claim and my daughter probably overhead me negioting a claim. I enjoy the challenge but I am looking forward to a career change when my daughter turns 16. I do this type of work because I set my own schedule and work anywhere.

I thought I had posted in here but I can't find it so....

I design/install custom Audio/Video systems. This is really why I got interested in the Wonderful Worl of Fiberglass in the first place.
I travel around the country doing jobs and often am out for weeks at a time. After 9/11 it became difficult to ship tools and supplies and staying in hotels gets old fast so I researched thinking I would get an Airstream when I found this site and my first Trillium. We all know the rest of the story.....so far!

Anyway this one is one of my favorites.
It is a Poolside/Poolhouse system where the customer actually said "I don't care what it costs, blow me away".

In the long shot you can see that the poolhouse is an Octogon. In the small angles soffits facing the pool(three sides only) I have 54 speakers fabricated into the soffit and covered with Bronze mesh (by others).

You can see the speakers in the close-up.

The Racks of gear are in the basement of the poolhouse and the gear shown is for the poolhouse system only.

To say it performs unbeleivabley is an understatement and as they say,if you have to ask how much it costs.........

These are the Racks for the main house.
The closet is really too small to get a good shot of them.
There is of course more gear on the other side of the racks but no room to get in there with a camera,at least not my camera!

Thanks for bringing up a favorite memory! I am a freelance writer, working at home. Many years ago my daughter (now age 45!) did a similar performance in kindergarten. When Buffy was asked her father's occupation, she said "my Daddy is a typewriter."

I'm a custom furniture artist.............though my business card labels me a Wood Artisan. I make very expensive custom furniture. I show in galleries and art shows, but most of my work is from referrals. I'm presently working on an 18' conference table.

Here's a link to an on-line album showing a few of my more recent pieces:

I gave up my cubicle job two years ago and started my own business. It was a huge leap of faith, but very well worth it!!

I am an Architectural Technologist and I have a home based office. I'm the only person in the business now, but I am set up to expand in the future if I decide to.

I do custom home plans for private individuals, plus I work with a local contractor who does design-build buildings for offices and industrial clients. I also have a few public sector clients that I work for on small renovation projects.

Sorry, no pictures of me working since I'm such a loner!

Uh... Ron... I have this mental picture of a guy who's a little over-the-hill gyrating in his doesn't-quite-fit-anymore disco poly suit with flabby parts sticking out through the buttons that perhaps were never meant to be seen...

It's a vision that's... uhhh... well... disturbing...
