My wife and I are retired since June of 07. For almost 32 years, I worked for a large electronic company holding engineering and project management jobs in manufacturing and primarily in R&D. Two highlights in my carrier were to live through the Silicon Valley technology explosion and the development of Ink Jet technology to the point of displacing silver halide from the photo printing business, sorry Kodak. Corporate life was great but when very generous early retirement was offered I am smiling since.

We are looking forward to trailer camping in N. America, extensive travel in Europe headquartered in the party town of Europe - Krakow, and boating in the San Juan Islands. I came to this country in 1974 and since acquired an American accent in my Polish and never totally got rid of my Polish accent in my English.

George.

Okay, this thread is old. But we have a bunch of new members since 2008! Anyone care to add to this thread and let us know what you're up to?

Time to update this a bit I think. Let's see my current occupation is trying to remember what day of week it is. I've got a great assistant that helps in that endeavor.
Current occupations (NOTE: I don't get paid for any thsed.)
Musician or attempting to be a musician by playing a Mountain Dulcimer
Camper, spend a good part of the year living in our Scamp, so Scamp maintenance has to be part of it.
Photographer, sometimes I take pictures or videos of our adventures, but not always.
Woodworker, latest accomplishment was Mountain Dulcimer.
Woodcarver and woodcarver teacher. Mostly Christmas pins and ornaments for my family. Teach one a year at a Rendezvous.
Ham radio operator. Mostly listen, but once in a while I'll enter into a radio conversation.
I'm sure there's other things, but who cares?

Sure. I joined in 2012 when I learned that the FGRV Forum existed. Currently, no occupation. Retired in January of 2012, wife in June of 2012, and both loving it. Prior to that, I worked for one of Florida's Water Management Districts. Among other things, did leak detection on municipal water lines and managed reclaimed water projects funded by the agency. Wife taught for 38 years. Over the years have had a Coleman popup, two Aliners, and a Scamp.

We're retired. The absolutely best job I've had is traveling in our RVs over 14 years of retirement.

Before retirement I did have a series of exciting job, mainly starting small business, mostly in technical fields, always working for each company for 5 years.

Ginny was in education, parenting, insurance.

Ok, I'll play. This is my 30th year as a professional photographer. Below is a link to my website, sorely in need of updating and attention, but its what it is for now. Since I don't own a FG RV yet will keep it simple.

But you're here, so you must have an interest in an all molded towable, so it's ALL GOOD. (she says as she runs off to check out Rob's photography website).

A link to my "occupation", or hobby, or which makes my living is in my signature.

First life - 14 years law enforcement.
Present life - research librarian at a law firm.

Retirement? Too darn far away.

I'm retired from my 'real' job as a computer systems engineer and applications admin. I now do some part time handy work to help pay for gas to travel. My wife just retired last fall so we're doing more traveling together now. We are considering working in Yellowstone next summer and staying in our Scamp.

I do a little flyfishing, fly tying, hiking, and guitar playing. I also like to look for rocks. My email is agatepicker.

That's not my real picture on my avatar, but it reflects my personality.

I'm long retired (2002) from a career at SUNY Oswego (a NY state college) teaching technical theatre. Designed sound & special effects for about 150 productions, maintained the electronics for the theatre, theatre photography, and taught courses in everything from sound design to welding.

Very rewarding, lots of fun, but the state made me a retirement offer I couldn't pass up.

Of course, being the photographer, no pictures of me!

Donna, thanks for renewing this thread. Very interesting, but did I miss your occupation posting?
I seem to reinvent myself every 10-15 years. '75 to '90 Back-to-Land homesteader/home schooler; '90-'96 microbiology student/research/teaching assistant; '97-'09 research and development, biotech industry; '09-'14 early "retirement", volunteering.
Even though only 5 years into the current instar, I'm feeling restless. Considering either re-entering workforce or entering full time RV life. I miss the science, but not the corporate pressure.
My son once complained about the amount of time I spent in my research lab, saying "it's not like you're doing something that's never been done before!" Um, yeah, actually that's the point. That's when I knew I wasn't communicating well enough with him.

Well, I'm a fairly long term member (since 2005) but I never posted in this thread !! As chatty as I can be, I don't know how I missed this opportunity

I work as a Tenant Coordinator for a Mall Developer in Michigan. I follow up on Tenants (future stores) and review their drawings, pester them to get building the store, and overall try to help them open as soon as possible. High stress, and some travel time also. I long for retirement, but it is not in the near future.
In my spare time, I CAMP!!

Good idea Donna. I hadn't seen this thread before. I am a retired game warden, 38+ years. Still work a little part time for my local sheriff's dept. Currently a member of my local volunteer ambulance crew (EMT). Member of Lions International. If you have a club in your town I highly recommend it. You can visit other clubs when on camping trips around the country. I went to two club meetings in Texas when I was down there. If was fun trading stories and ideas for projects to bring back.
