The closest one to us opens on Memorial Day and closes the week after Labor Day .Shoveled snow for 3 hours today and it looks like I
never shoveled .Filled the wood box so we have plenty of dry firewood for tonight and tomorrow. We don't get the amount of snow here compared to the UP .Today is the anniversary of the coldest recorded temperature ever in Minnesota 60 below zero in Tower MN. No mosquitos at that temp just those pesky snow fleas.

I was in Janesville, WI on Monday night and I was watching the weather because of the impending doom that the weather channel was broadcasting. I didn't want to get caught in what looked like a serious storm cell so I hit the road before 6:00 am.

It's seemed scary but I made it out and South of Chicago, despite the winds, on my way home to Kentucky before saw any real serious weather. It was 70' when I passed through Louisville and lots of short sleeves downtown.

I wondered about your Tearjerker banner. Now I know! I'm just past 9 years in a teardrop and looking forward to a glass trailer.

Really???? Snow fleas?

What are snow fleas?? Are they real? We have sand fleas on the gulf coast, so why not snow fleas in the frozen north???

YES , snow fleas are real. You see them on top of the snow when the sun is out .They look like someone has sprinkled black pepper on the snow. I was out shoveling snow for about 6 hours today ,it was sunny and they were out this afternoon . The rumor is that the snow fleas are what snipes and wood nymphs eat in the winter.
The Wisconsin DNR has a Web page on snow fleas if you are interested.

The question might not be, why does your wife take you so literally. But rather, why did she take you at all? Just kidding!
