Wizard of Oz in Portland?

Donna D.

Were you there near? Unlike a hurricane they can ruin your life in 15 minutes and leave your neighbor totally intact.

Hurricanes can also have tornados mixed in with them as well.

No Cyndi, not near me thank goodness. Aumsville is about 60 miles south of Portland, then a bit east. Tiny little town and it was pretty messed up. The hardest hit was a plumbing supply store and the trailer park Why is it these things aim for trailer parks? Fortunately no one killed, two minor injuries and 10 people looking for new places to live.

Tornados are NOT part of the Pacific Northwest normal weather pattern.

Yikes!

Hi: All... What's NORMAL??? Here in South Wet Ontario we're having to rescue stranded motorists by helecopter& snowmobiles from unusual BLIZZARD conditions and the Sarnia Ont./Pt. Huron Mich. border crossing has been shut for two days. Where's normal...or have we turned into wussies???

We never had tornados here until about 15 years ago... now we have multiple tornados every year. The closest one was just about 3 miles from my house. I took a look at the damage right after it happened. It picked up the bleachers from a ball park and placed them artistically around the area... in a tree, in a parking lot, etc. It also exposed an illegal slot machine operation when it took the roof off of a building!
