Was done to hear all the negative responses then the true hero came forward with a wood stove install and a story about living off the grid and that is priceless. Living off his Social Security payment and doing well. Many thanks for his reply.

I had a "Cottage" size airtight stove in my house. That's why I'm a naysayer.
I've had real world experience.

Humm, I thought this thread was about a wood stove in an all-molded towable. You live in one full-time, so that's your real world experience?

To add to Donna's request, do tell. Even though it doesn't relate to all-molded towable trailers, I like stories, what, in your experience, is the problem with air tight wood stoves. Like you, I have one in my house. It came with the place when I bought it, more than 20 years ago. No problem so far.
Not exactly related either. Princess Auto has two tiny wood stoves for sale at the moment. One is something they have had before. Based on the reviews it is not great. To me the flue seems too small. It's maybe 2" in diameter. But boy is it cheap, $59 Cdn.

The other is more expensive, $110 Cdn. It has a larger diameter flue, (5"?). It also seems better built. Though the door gasket will need work.

I think the intent for these stoves is for inside a tent, (sketchy). I would use them as an alternative to both a camp fire and the Coleman stove on the picnic table.

You sir are definitely doing something right! I give you my full respect. I hope to meet you on the road, one day.
Though your choice in traveling companions is hard for me to understand. Just not a cat person.

Totally agree. My "real world experience" is living on a molded fiberglass boat for 17 years and spending some of that time heating with a wood stove. Yes, it certainly can be done and yes it works. Of course it does. But the problem for me was the mess and constant attention to make it work well. A much more practical solution was to switch to an oil burner. It looks the same with a nice flame, but can be set to run for days or weeks with no attention at all. And no mess or dealing with cutting/splitting wood and no need to have another fuel to deal with inside the boat.
Now, I'm very happy with my propane furnace in the trailer. Propane heating on the boat never seemed like a good idea as I realized that drilling a hole in the bottom of the boat to let the propane out, was much more likely to let an annoying amount of water in instead.

I live in a 800 sq. ft. house. I've already posted my experiences with a small wood stove numerous times. If you want to put one in your all-moulded trailer, go ahead. Won't have any impact on me.
