Yes, we did. Now, that was not entirely by choice. We bought the camper in Eugene, Oregon in January, based on an ad on an RV website. We had to wait until April when we had spring break to pick it up, and by that time, someone at the RV place stole one of the chairs for his/her office, at least that is what we think. We only had a day to pick it up, so there was no time to scream and get the chair back, so we found recliners to "fit." They do not quite fit to take advantage of the design of the camper. The Silver Cloud has a long table that fits between the couch and chairs for larger numbers of people, and a small table that fits between the 2 chairs for only 2 of us. With recliners, it is difficult/impossible to use those tables. However, the choice between comfortable chairs and the table...

I have figured out that if we ever want to take advantage of the original design of the camper, we can buy a Casita chair top, and the bottom from Amazon. Seems easier to eat with a tray on our laps right now.

Congratulations Cindi. Retirement will be the best job you ever had. I taught from 1958 until 1990. Can’t believe that next June will be 30 years retired.

Kevin's Silver Cloud updates:

New floor, new rugs, although I am going to add a teal runner for the living room and bedroom. Kevin built up the couch which needs reupholstery, but this works, so your butt does not feel like it sinks to the floor. I bought a teal pet cover for the couch that covers the 80s pink and foam. Kevin covered it with the Southwestern throw. Kevin installed a Thetford kit that raises the toilet to ADA height. Kevin also changed the location of the TV cable, so it did not have to run all around the living room. It came into the kitchen just over the sink, go figure.

If you download those photos into a photo processing app you can rotate them so the appear correctly here.

I know people like to get as much in a photo as possible, but if all photos are taken in landscape mode (rather than portrait) they'll display properly in the forum....

True. But, you can make them display properly by downloading into a photo app and rotating them. That removes the coding that the smart phone has attached to make the picture orient itself any which way you hold the phone.
Or, the software used on these forums could strip that coding, just like Face
Book does, if they wanted to.

The awning is Carefree by Colorado screen room. The Silver Cloud already had a Carefree awning, so we bought the screen room. It attaches to the awning and gives us a room the size of an awning.

Got the rugs laid down, so we are ready for camping this weekend.

And if these images are cock-eyed, just turn your head. I shared them to my email, downloaded them to my Mac, uploaded them to Apple Photo, and exported them where they were upright in all cases, and they are what they are.

16 years ago I retired after teaching high school for 30 years. I immediately went over to the local community college to begin teaching adjunct... with the stipulation that I wouldn't teach on Fridays or Monday mornings. About 5-6 years later I started looking for and found my Burro. I've never really given it the opportunity to take me on a long trip, but it has been faithful keeping me out of the weather at weekend and some weekend events to which I've traveled.

Today I turned in the paperwork for my RMD (Required Minimum Distribution) of my annuity, so I am starting to think about the next level. I really have to get serious about what I'll use for my permanent tow vehicle and doing some long delayed work on the Burro. Now we will find out if not only the Mind will be willing, but the Spirit will be sufficiently strong (rather than weak) to face my 7th decade!

Our first camper was a Burro. Took it to Yellowstone and camped among the monst

PS: Don't plan on adjunct teaching.ers. Then we got a Haul VT and went many miles. Now we have the Silver Cloud for retirement traveling.

I was only 55 when I retired (time to get out of the HS environment!) and teaching at the community college was more fun than work most of the time... besides, I needed to do something to keep me out of trouble!.

I'm to the point now that I teach one course that I really like (in fact I developed it for our school) in the Spring and some Fall semesters. When it stops being fun, I can quit at any time. When I did my RMD, it also came out that my annuity from the college doesn't require that I withdraw from it so long as I teach at least one class per calendar year, so that's another incentive to hold onto the adjunct thing a little while longer.

Anyway, we each have to chart our own course and for better or worse this is mine. I hope you will enjoy your retirement as much as I have mine so far.

My first date with my wife was at a Harry Chapin concert. He was pretty down to earth. I could see him in a fiberglass trailer. I'm going to put Steve's campground on my to do list for someday.
