SOLD: 2005 Deluxe Scamp 5er, $12,000

We are selling our very gently used 2005 Scamp Deluxe 5er (oak). It is in great condition - looks practically new.

We are located 15 minutes outside Albuquerque, NM and are asking $15k. This includes the hitch (original style), a Calmark cover and new tires (March 2012).

I have posted many photos of the inside and outside here (pardon the order - they show up in the reverse order from what I wanted):
Fiberglass RV - Fran L's Album: 2005 Deluxe Scamp 5er (New Mexico)

We are the 2nd owner. The original owner used it 3 times and towed less than 5000 miles.
We purchased it October 2011 and have used it for 6 short trips totaling 4154 miles towed.
Other than the usual dimensions for beds, etc which can be found on the Scamp website (or just ask) I've tried to list everything else about our little Scamp.
Has the following Scamp options:
1) Dual propane tanks
2) Deluxe Oak interior
3) Carpet
4) Screen door
5) Fantastic Fan
6) Stove cover
7) Extra light fixtures
8) Delta Antenna
9) Outside and inside cable TV connector
10) Wet bath with shower
11) In cabinet Microwave
12) 6.0 cu ft fridge (automatic gas/AC) with separate freezer
13) Furnace
14) Roof mounted a/c
15) Hot water heater
16) Outside 110v outlet
17) Windows over sink and stove
18) Window in bathroom
19) Awning
20) 1.5 inch axle lift
21) Extra overhead cabinets
22) Reading lights in loft and dining area
Things we added:
1) LED motion activated porch light
2) Converted to all LED bulbs inside
3) New LED taillight fixtures
4) MaxxAir II Cover for Fantastic Fan
5) Snap Springs for front landing gear
6) Calmark Cover for storage
7) Insect screens for heater exhaust
8) Reflectix panels for windows, ceiling fans and vents
9) Safety Glass mirror on bathroom door
10) Alko axle support welding repair as directed by Scamp
11) Telescoping BAL stabilizers on rear of trailer
12) New 14” radial tires (including spare) March 2012 (Maxxis M8008) with metal valve stems

NOTES:
Wheel bearings and brakes inspected and serviced May 2013
Has been towed by 2011 Nissan Frontier 6cyl 4.0L 4x4 Crew Cab Short Bed (5’)
Unlike some Scamps, our door does NOT leak and fits snugly all around with no problems!

Fran,

Does the scamp have the high lift axle? Could you measure from ground to top of your truck bed and get me the measurement. Thanks

Dave,
The Scamp has a 1.5" lift. We have a tonneau cover on the bed which has rails mounted on the top edge of the bed. The top of the tonneau cover rail is 51" and there is plenty of room between the top of the rail and the Scamp as you can see in these photos of the Scamp hitched to our Frontier Pro4x 4x4.

Fran,

Been following your remarks re:hitches in the Escape forum. Thought this question better served here.

What is the height above the bed in this Scamp 5th model ? And do you know the same in the Escape 5.0? Kind of looks like a bit more headroom in this Scamp of yours?

My wife was wondering about this, wants to know if there is any "closed in" feeling in these 5th wheel bed models.

Thanks,

Hi Leonard,
Well, no one has ever asked that before so I went out and just measured it! At the bed edge closest to the nose of the trailer it is 34" from the top of the mattress to the ceiling and at the edge furthest from the nose it is 38.5.
Yes, from the pictures of the Escape I do believe the Escape has a little less headroom there..but I don't know what the measurement is.

I think the other question from your wife was 'does it feel closed in up in the loft bed area'. Personally, I don't feel 'closed' in up in the bed area...I think it's quite comfy and I like that it is somewhat separate from the rest of the trailer. There are two windows and a roof/escape vent so there is plenty of light - except at night of course :-) There is a reading light in the loft and a dome light mounted on the wall in the stairway.

Hope that answers the questions....
Fran & Dave
Maybe an Escape 5.0 owner will chime in and provide the comparable measurements.....

Well, I got an answer from an Escape owner...the height at the end furthest from the nose is the same in the Escape as in the Scamp and I imagine the height at the nose will be the same or pretty close too.

Scamp 5er still for sale in New Mexico

This great little Scamp is still for sale!! This trailer has not had any smokers or pets in it and is in really great shape!
We also put in a shutoff valve in the bathroom so you can turn off the water to the toilet but still have water in the rest of the trailer. Comes in handy if you ever have any problems with the toilet plumbing or flush valve. We usually leave it turned off unless we know we are going to use the trailer toilet. Of course, you can just use a water jug to provide water for the toilet instead of the trailer water if you wish.
