1974 Boler Restoration

Hello, my name is Tom and I just purchased my 1st Boler and am beginning the restoration project. The frame is in decent shape...I'm going to have it sand blasted and resealed. My question involves the old headliner....how do you remove it and what is the best material to replace it with? Thanks

That's the million dollar question. I just restored my 1971 Boler last spring and have AYR-FOIL Reflective insulation on the walls and not sure what to cover it with either. I bought a 4' x 125' roll for a really good price and have lots left.

Does the Ayr-foil have a self adhesive back or are you applying your own? How thick is it? Thanks for the reply........

Welcome to FGRV Tom.
We love to see pictures here.
Removing and replacing the "headliner" aka ensolite is a big job that is potentially expensive and usually not necessary. Be prepared for many hours of scraping and grinding with a wire brush wheel.
There are alternatives such as filling the seams with latex caulking, replacing the seam tape and painting.
Worthy of searching the forums for various solutions.
I'm sure others will pipe in soon.

Hi Tom, to FiberglassRV, we're glad you're here

I'm willing to do a lot of things to my trailer myself. Replacing the wall covering is NOT one of them. Lots of work, lots of expense.

Ryan completed the ensolite replacement on his Trillium Sportsman this past summer. It cost him (with glue) more than $1,500. He bought the ensolite from TrilliumRV which is very similar to the original.

Direct Link to Ryan's replacement post: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...tml#post381645

Based on this info, you may want to consider what Roy said. Do what you can to save it.

Thanks for this info. Learning my options and potential pitfalls from you folks is invaluable. I'll definitely explore salvaging the original ensolite. What would be the best way to clean the mold and mildew on the walls and ceiling before restoring it?
