83 Burro Cedar Screen Door

We have been trying to figure out a way to keep the bugs out of our 83 Burro.

We tried the magnetic screens and kept tripping on them, so decided to build a door from scratch. I used cardboard to make the template- and then made everything out of cedar. (Aluminum screen makes it look vintage) I used tung oil for finish and it came out looking pretty decent. Took about 5 hours to build and cost around $50.00- it would have cost less if I had used pine or similar wood.

Beautiful job.

Plus One for cardboard templates - they are under rated.

Looks great! Cedar should last. I assume it swings inward?

Fantastic. I am far from putting on a screen door but when I do I will remember this one.

The door is hinged on the left and swings inward, but works ok as the door is only 24 inches wide.
