ADD TO IT

New owner of a Fiber stream. We are slowly getting the water leaks sealed. Everything leaked. Now to dream of fun things. Has anyone added exterior power outlets, waterproof speakers and awnings to their vintage fiberglass campers? Pictures please if you can. Thanks.

Try a small bluetooth speaker or earbuds for listening outside. You can situate the speaker close to you and not annoy your neighbours. Doesn't require holes either. Simple to move it inside the trailer or over to the picnic table.

Very classy, love the blue stripe! I agree that you don't want to be using outdoor speakers if you have neighbors.

I added an outside outlet -- mounted box inside, then used regular exterior cover plate. Don't have any leaks, but also don't use it much at all. I put it back in since it had one there, but I think I have used it more working on the camper in my drive (rather than get out one more extension cord) when I needed something and the camper was already plugged in. I might use it more as time goes on, but use gas for cooking outside, and cordless drills etc for any tools I need while camping.

I have added exterior outlets to my trailer, both AC and 12V. I got the fittings for that from a marine supply store.

As to exterior speakers, no real need for it nowadays as there are lots of great bluetooth rechargeable speakers available. Think of it this way, when the sun changes direction you might want to move your chairs and table to a different location. Or if you are at a campsite that has a picnic table it might not be on the same side of the trailer as your built in speakers. The flexibility of a portable also means you could take it down to the shore of a river or lake if you wanted to spend the afternoon there instead of up by the trailer.

I won't get into the issue of preserving the peace and quiet for others, no one wants a lecture on the basics of being a good neighbor.

Yep. Also a big fan of bluetooth speakers. I like that I didn't need to wire them in or make more holes in my boler. Also I can pair mine inside with my media center or externally with my phone. I also have an external 12v outlet that I use.
