I remember that the question was asked before but cannot find the reply.
How does one create an avatar and how does one have it appear, hmmmm? Is there a website(free) to find or create one?
Please and thank you
Hans

:wave Hans,

Glad you asked. This website has two ways of helping you find your answers.

1. The Search button in the upper right corner is very (cool) powerful.

2. For Site stuff, we have a section down near the bottom called “Fiberglass RV Website Notes”. In that section you’ll see “Basic Website Tutorials”, and then in the Tutorials is Using Avatars.

(You can click on the underlined words here.)

I hope this helps.

Nice avatar Hans

Nice avatar Hans!

Hey, just do an internet search for "avatar" and a bunch of sites will pop up. Unfortunately most of the avatars are no suitable for using here ... but if you check out a couple of avatar sites, you'll find one that fits you "just right" (although I like your little rig-avatar!)

How to make your own Avatar

Hello Hans, the first part of your question was how to make your own avatar. Well, all they really are is a .jpg or .gif picture file. However, there are some constraints about the size of the picture. On this site, they cannot exceed 75x75 pixels or 5K in file size (Michael, correct me if I am wrong on either of these points). I created my avatar in about 2 minutes using a photo editing program. I started by selecting a picture file, loading it into the editing program (PhotoSuite V5), resizing it from 1600x1200 to 64x48 pixels and saving it as a .gif file. Then, I went through the process described by Michael for adding it to my profile and that is it. If there are not that many avatars available for this type of a forum, perhaps we might consider starting a library. - John-

Wow! Blast from the past!

There's also a nice tutorial in FiberglassRV Website notes on the subject of uploading avatars. Just follow the link for more info and discussion .
