Bug & tar spots on front of my scamp

I have bug and tar spots that the back car wheels scattered on the front of my 13 ft scamp. I have tried dish soap, and camco black streak cleaner. Is it ok to use goo gone? The tar spots are just not coming off.

Have you tried turtle wax bug and tar remover we don’t have many bugs that stick tight but sometimes tar from road work. My flaps on the trailer help too. Good luck

I used WD40. My Casita was covered in tar from a road project. That was the only thing that worked for me. Try it on a small spot first.

I have used the turtle wax bug and tar remover, it works great. I would definitely wash and re-wax where you used the bug and tar remover, or any other type of tar remover such as goo-gone.

“Bug and Tar Remover” is effective, as well as the wd40 method, but you’ll need to re-wax after cleaning. The marine wax is a good preventative. Wash/wax often.

bug and tar remover is perfumed and colored kerosene and/or naptha. WD40 is also largely kerosene with a little light oil.

btw, traditional 'wax' as in carnabu is pretty much obsolete these days... modern surface sealants like poly coats and ceramic coats are far more durable AND less work to apply once the surface is properly prepared (which might require buffing with polishing compound before applying the sealant).
