Modern stickers usually don't require water, like old decals used to. There is a strong adhesive on the sticker an a weaker adhesive on the back of the front paper. The front paper is see through, so you peel off the back, exposing the adhesives. Position the sticker while looking through the front paper to get the alignment right, and press the whole thing on to the surface
smoothing as you go. Now you peel off the front paper carefully leaving the main sticker stuck to the surface.
