casita stickers

Hi,just bought a casita 17 freedom deluxe in nasty condition. The outside was lichen covered and faded so i buffed it out and removed the peeling stickers and ordered new ones. They came in today and im wondering if these are the kind that you wet the surface , peel off the backing and apply the sticker to the wet surface ,squeegy out the air and let it dry , then pull off the front paper? If thats not how it is done could someone correct my method?? Thanks a bunch!

Hi Jim, to FiberglassRV, we're glad you're here!

There are lots of kind and helpful people here on the forums. I'm sure one or two or bunches will be along shortly to answer your question.

Do you have any pictures to share? We especially like the ones from ugly beginning to wonderful end!

Modern stickers usually don't require water, like old decals used to. There is a strong adhesive on the sticker an a weaker adhesive on the back of the front paper. The front paper is see through, so you peel off the back, exposing the adhesives. Position the sticker while looking through the front paper to get the alignment right, and press the whole thing on to the surface smoothing as you go. Now you peel off the front paper carefully leaving the main sticker stuck to the surface.
