Picked one up today at Lowes in Lansing MI, THANKS for the heads up. You could see the replacement Zep products on the shelves.

I've got a couple questions for anyone who has already done this.
Has anyone used a random orbital buffer with the Barkeepers friend? I have a heart condition and can't do wax on/wax off all day.
I also have some kind of bug excrement that falls from a nearby tree. It is red bump. In the past I've only been able to remove these with paint thinner. The hard part is keeping it from evaporating before it can soak in. I've put the thinner on it and then quickly covered it with plastic wrap for a minute or two so it could soften it. I never thought about barkeepers friend. Previously I had used a scrubby and removed the bug stuff but also some of the gel-coat shine.
What 3M scrubby is recommended that will only remove dirt and not the gelcoat?

I would not recommend using a buffer with Barkeepers. You add water and it is very easy to apply, you do not want to grind it in. I did mine in quarters and I was done in an hour. The same for the Red Maxx treatment, by the time you finish one side the other is dry.

I did my Red Maxx project yesterday and had the same experience. As quick as one side was done, the other was dry. I was able to clean my Scamp 16 and do 5 coats of Red Maxx in a just a few hours. I had good results cleaning with Magic Erasers. I only used Barkeepers Friend on some of the tougher stains.

Paul as others have said Barkeeps Friend should be used very sparingly as it will/can damage the gelcoat. If you are wanting something that will give you a shine and take off the stains and oxidization at the same time and want to use a buffer you may want to try 3M Restore & Wax. Works really well with a buffer. May find that you dont even need to do the Red Max finish.

OK. Here's a few pics. It's morning here so the sun isn't completely up yet but I think you can see the shine.

Thanks for all the advice! Jim I'll skip using the buffer. Carol, the finish is too far gone for a wax. I think I'll need the Red Max to add the clear gloss.
Has anyone used the liquid Barkeepers friend? I picked up a gallon of RedMax Pro on clearance at Lowes and they only had two cans of the powered Barkeepers Friend and they both looked like they had been dropped from the top rack so I bought the liquid.
One more question. Which 3M scrub pad did everyone use and where did you get it? I used a dishwashing scrubbie a few years ago to try and remove bug excrement and dulled the gelcoat. I don't want to scratch it, just clean it.

The WHITE 3M pad is the one you want. I got mine @ hardware store - with a hard plastic backer and handle - made life a LOT easier than just a pad.

So we decided to try the floor finish on our new to us Casita. Some of you may have seen this bug shot taken after 1750 miles on the road. They did not come off easily; it took a lot of scrubbing. I do believe a good polish and wax would have brought the finish right back, but that also requires more frequent upkeep than what we are hearing about RM/Zep. Our local stores have made the swap to Zep, so that is what we used,

This is after cleaning.

And this is after 5-6 coats of Zep. Today was the first time we took it out in the sun since I did it last week. It looks great. The finish feels a bit "stippled", I think due to the rags I used. I did get new microfiber, but I think I should have washed them first. Still, if the bugs wipe off as I've read about, we will be very happy.

OK, I will add to the general chorus. Today, after almost two years of watching this thread, I finally got around to cleaning the trailer. We don’t have a cute name for it yet, but maybe some day. I used the instructions earlier in this thread, which worked very well. I cleaned it using Barkeeper’s Friend (liquid) and an auto shampooing brush, which worked very well. Then 4 coats of Zep #3, including the roof. After I was done, I did one coat on the tire cover and the visible portion of the frame, just to shine it up a bit. I still have enough in the jug to do several more trailers. I am very happy with the results. In the pictures attached, the sun had moved quite a lot during the day, but you can get the idea.
I also did the front window cover with all 4 coats. I am hoping that it will make it easier to get the bugs off after each trip.
