Hi All I just bought a new fiberglass trailer, finally. There is quite a nit of work to do on it but that should be fun. the first thing i need to do is get rid of the lift. the gut i bought this off of got a 2.5 ft lift. With the kind of lift I see in the pics you're gonna need the'bigfoot' truck to pull that puppy.

It looks like it gonna be a really nice trailer once you clean it up.

You can take that thing to the outback and never bottom out.

I have seen slide in campers sit lower than that. That guy must have had one of those truck that are 5 ft off the ground and have a center of gravity that says roll over now.

You will have a great time fixing the trailer up. He probally reversed the axles and then put blocks in. You and probally just take the blocks out then put in new U bolts.

Did I ever open up a can of worms
I was looking at the windows the wood around them need to be replaced.
The top hatch need to be replaced, the foundation for the hatch as well as the canvass and the fly netting.
There is some small leaks that need to be fixed.
It requires a a very GOOD cleaning as well as some new cabinet work.
It needs to be taken down off it's lift.
There is some fiberfglass work to do on the side as well as the bottom.

I need to have this done by April 18th so we can go camping as well as it is raining cats and dogs and I don't have a garage only a tarp.


But is it ever going to be fun going camping in it!!!

I love it under the gun, anyone wanna help me, a couple of beer for you!

I think it's great that you narrowed down were you live to Gold River - because there are very few BC'ers that even know where that is. That's beautiful country that most don't get to. (I'm jealous)

We were there last year for 2 weeks at a forestry site, 800 year old Douglas Fir's - the name escapes me.

As we basically have no pop up eggs here in BC (and I'm certain I have never seen a CJ here), I for one am looking forward to the end result of your mission. It'll work, your can of worms, as you called it, has been challenged by many here before. We have so many people here with great ideas....read back, ask questions, and keep us updated.

:wave Something like that is just what I've been looking for. I would love to try my hand at restoring a Compact Jr. You are really lucky. What is the value of it? One person on here bought one for about $600 if I remember correctly. I've seen only one here in Arkansas. They were asking $1100 for it, but never got it. Have fun.

I found a set of pictures of a camper with a pop-up section like yours, and it was called a Compact II on the webpage. I know my Compact Jr. is 13ft. long OA with a full-length pop-up section. The "Compact II" shown has a pop-up section that ends before the front of the camper, similar to yours. It also appears to have another closet on the driver's side between the stove and seating area. Maybe it's the "Compact Sr.!"

That was just stickers on the side, that is peeling off. i have now finished the fiberglassing and sanding some on my old trailer. Next is the gel coat. we are doing her all over maybe 2 coats. it will make so much better looking. it will soon be time, 2 days and counting.

:wave Hi Christian. I own a 73 Compact Jr. The edges on mine seem
to been more rounded than yours without the outside shelf and
a full length raised top. Mine also has the white diamond tuck
interior as seen in the other posted pics.

So.... tell us if you got it done or not.:o Here it is the 26th and I'm still waiting. Its a cruel joke right.:bh Post some more pictures also. I would like to see what you have done and see if it got closer to the ground yet.
