Compact Jr canvas replacement.....

Hi Jr owners!

I've been thinking about a new canvas for my Jr.

Whatever canvas was up there was long gone when I got it a few years ago.

I have a very flexible mesh. Works fine but the top needs to be lowered in the rain.

specialize in pop up camper canvas replacements. I sent them a photo of another Jr I found on the fiberglass website.

They said they could replicate the canvas for $525, shipping included, IF I could send them an old canvas to copy.

Ah, there's the rub, I don't have an old one.

If anyone has an old one collecting dust in the garage I'd love to borrow it and return it when done.

But I probably won't do this until spring.

They offer it in gray, taupe, or green canvas and in white or cream color vinyl.

Would love to hear the pros and cons of both materials.

It would seem like vinyl would be less likely to mold?

that's my biggest fear, to open it up sometime and find mold-stained fabric.

Wonder if it would be practical to have the canvas made with snaps so it could be taken out easily for long term storage.

Gee, that seems pricey.
I got the canvas, fifertex, Velcro, etc to do mine on my Compact II for under $100.
It's a simple-ish job of sewing. Well, unless you want some complicated window/screen installation
If you are sending off to get it done it seems like most of the work would be you installing it
See if another Jr owner has the measurements from redoing theirs and call around to local canvas shops and see if you can do better. If you have good measurements to give them it should be straightforward
