Dimensions of SmartPlug 30 amp kit

Thanks to recommendations on another thread, I'm looking at adding this to the Lil B.

However, the very helpful "dimensions" provided by Amazon (here: https://tinyurl.com/y7oxvf8y) state:
11 x 9 x 4 inches

I am 100% certain this is the size of the package in which the item is shipped.

I need to know the size of the hatch itself. Can anyone help?

From eTrailer's Q&A section.
The female end, or the power inlet, with the weather resistant cover is 3.25 inches at its widest point. 4.5 inches tall and 3.75 inches long.

The male side of the plug is 4 inches long 3 inches wide and 3 inches tall.

What is the advantage of SmartPlug over the RV standard 30A plug? Other than stay in dark if you lost or broke the cable and there is nowhere to borrow another one?

It is claimed that the Smart Plug presents less risk of fire.

In another thread I posted pics of twist lock plugs and the four screw mounting variety with a square body is the same as the Smart Plug, interchangeable, according to the installation drawings on their web site.

If you are looking for the physical dimensions of the outside of the power inlet, My Marinco (white plastic, four screw mounting) is 3¼ wide and 3¾ high. The screw hole pattern is also slightly rectangular. The Smart Plug will be virtually the same. All of the square part is on the outside, the dimensions of the flip door are not relevant. Go to my post HERE to see what the power inlet looks like inside and out.

Follow this link, it takes you to a specific post in a thread in the Escape forum, the entire (long) thread is on the Smart Plug. This post has a link in it that if you click it, you will download a dimensional drawing of the Smart Plug connector that mounts in the trailer.
