Just got my new to me
Scamp 13'. It's a 2009 and in decent condition. No
leaks that I'm aware of and walls look pretty clean. Only two owners who both took pretty good care it looks like.
I have a few things that I'd like to do and both are going to involve working with/around ensolite.
1. Add a backing to the kitchen wall.
Someone did it here,
https://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/...des-80569.html but I don't want grease splashing on the ensolite. Either I'd cut it out and remove just that section or just go over it which it looks like is what they did.
2. Adding a shoe storage on the interior of the door with some
light aluminum backing so any water/dirt doesn't drip onto the ensolite while it's hanging on the door.
3. Adding some
light birch backings to the cabinets and storage to hide the ensolite. Purely for aesthetic reasonings.
Does covering ensolite with wood or
fiberglass like the other forum poster did, cause any moisture getting trapped? Are there materials it's better to do it with if being covered purely for aesthetics, e.g. a fabric of some sort to contour to it? Or if using wood, leave a small gap in between with holes to allow proper ventilation in case of moisture.
Initially I looked into replacing it all because it looks a little ugly but I've heard it's quite the task and the alternatives probably won't look much better. Hearing it was invented by NASA makes it a little cooler I guess but I do wish it wasn't yellow but I may look into
painting it later.
Thanks for any help!
Also for cleaning ensolite, how many people recommend bleach vs just soap and water?
