So I was at my local
U-haul store, having my
propane tanks topped off in anticipation of our annual Florida Spring Break (Easter) camping trip, when the guy filling the tanks said, "Hey, you want me to spray some
electrical contact cleaner on your Suburban's trailer plug?"
Sure, I said, have at it. He grabbed a can and liberally sprayed the connector (for free).
When I stopped by the trailer to reinstall the
propane tanks, I plugged the trailer and Suburban together, and double checked that my connections were working.
Still a couple of weeks away from the Florida trip, but hey, the early bird gets the worm. Besides that, you should double check your electric connections well before any planned trips, because life being what it is (as Kitty recently found out), it's no fun finding out your brake
lights aren't working when you are minutes from departing.
Now ... and please don't tell the
U-haul guy this ... I have a can of
electrical contact cleaner in the Suburban, but hey, since he offered to give me a free shot or two ... who says there's no such thing as a free lunch!
