Gel Coat Damage?

I was a little careless yesterday. Backed my '06 Bigfoot into a brick window ledge and took off some of the Gel Coat. An area about 1" x 2" and no more than an 1/8'' deep at the worst of it. Anything I can use to fill the spot? Sand it down and get it some where close to original? Thanks for your help.

Oh....and my neighbours tree snapped off a week ago and partially landed on my Bigfoot. No roof or gel coat damage. Bent the awning tube and tore the awning in 2 places. Neighbours a nice guy....gave me a wad of cash on Christmas day to help get the awning replaced.[/IMG]

They make a gel coat repair kit in white and with colour match set, just got a Gelcote international ltee/ltd multi color repair kit. They work great (better than paint) had to buff trailer to get original colour than match it. boler has a yellow tint to the original colour.

Not only different shades of white, but the trailer can actually be different shades on each side... depending on how it sits when mostly parked and where the sun hits it.

Best of luck

If you check around you might find that companies that install acrylic showers and bathtubs may have someone on staff who can help you and do a good match. Its not uncommon during new home build for a new bath or shower to be damaged by one of the trades - often the plumber doing the fixture installs or the drywalled.... so most bath tub companies have someone they can call in to do a fix of a minor scratch or ding. They are very good at matching up the various shades of white.

to repair a small hole in my casita i got a fiberglass tub/shower repair kit from lowes or home despot. worked well for me and the color was a good match (just luck i guess). a LOT less expensive than anything west marine wanted to sell me.
