History of Boler?

We saw a small orange Boler fiberglass trailer parked at a Walmart parking lot close by where we live last night and are very curious about it's history, where they were first made, when and how much they might weigh? It was quite small, I'd guess about 10'. Appreciate any information. We have other vintage campers...53 Crown, 59 Rear Door Serro Scotty, 61 Front Kitchen Serro Scotty, 64 Shasta Compact and 75 Gaucho Serro Scotty. We also have a 1964 VW Bus we'd like to perhaps use to pull a small trailer such as this one which looked to be very light and whose style seemed a good match to our VW bus. I'm attaching pic's of the one we saw. They were taken with my phone, so the quality is not so great.

Isn't that style called the Sunrise Boler? I saw one this summer and I have to say it's the nicest Boler I have seen - great color combo IMHO.

Though it would not be to functional..... but a chopped top hot rod would look awsome pulling a chop topped egg, or replace the front window of the egg with one that matches the lines of the chopped top TV.

My favorite , propane cover mimics the cars hood as do the fenders and rear bumper ,not to mention the paint! P.S. Trailer rides on air bags and is able to drop down into the weeds! ***LQQKS CQQL!***.

Christi - A brief history of Boler's origin can be found in the new book "Teardrops and Tiny Trailers", page 112. (by Douglas Keister)

In summary, the Boler trailer was first made by Ray Olecko in the late '60. He used a septic tank mold as his trailer mold. He operated a Boler factory in Winnipeg, for a few years before selling it. The name was derived from a Bowler hat.

So there it is folks, our fiberglass eggs started with septic tanks.
