I was working on the floor of my 74 boler to repair a large hole that was cut out by the previous owner . I had to enlarge the hole in order to fix it and i looked at the makeup of the floor and found that balsa is what is sandwhiched between two layers of fiberglass , i was surprised. That's what helps keep it lightweight . I'm wondering if all the bolers are like that ?

Perry,

Our 72 Boler has only plywood for a floor no fibreglass at all. It is in like new condition as well.

Ours has a 1in layer of plywood sandwiched between the two layers of FG. I suspect, that like everything else about these Eggs, that each mfg plant did it their own way.

My 1978 1700 has a 5/8" plywood floor with no tongue and groove, the floor squeaked and moved until I put a fresh layer of 5/16 plywood with lots of PL 400 adhesive and screws 1" on center.
