Interior foam Trillium

Hi, I own a 1979 Trillium Jubilee. The original walls were cover in a textured type foam that looks much like the ceilings in a house. Anyone have a good modification idea for replacement? I am new to this forum so this may have been discussed, not sure.

Hi Darren, to FiberglassRV... we're glad you're here

So... what's wrong with the original wall covering? It's called Ensolite.. BTW Which is one of the best insulations, closed-cell coverings offered in all molded trailers. And the "original" is no longer available. There are other solutions...

We're here to help you with answers to your questions...

The covering you call ensolite is scraped off in places and we are not sure how you would patch it. It would be like the textured ceiling in your home scraped off in places and trying to repair it.

Is the Ensolite white, or cream colored?

I ask because Trillium Rv sells replacement Ensolite, but I think it's only available in white. (Link)

The color is white, someone painted it. Color doesn't matter to me. Where can a person get it? how is it installed?

Darren, Please understand that I have never done it myself, but this is what I understand about Ensolite. It is a black, closed cell foam which is coated with vinyl. It is attached to your trailer with contact cement. It stretches, especially when warm.
The new stuff available from Trillium has a smother finish.

While most Bolers have Ensolite, some - including mine - have an open-celled soft yellow foam (like upholstery foam) with a soft and thin popcorn-texured surface film. The Ensolite surface film is thicker, and more "elephant hide" texture. The soft foam wall covering is much more easily damaged.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

I posted a link to a white Ensolite source in the post just before your question- but if your wallcovering is the same as that described by Brain, I think it won't match.

Yes. The foam is rubber, and vinyl is the common name for polyvinyl chloride, it is sometimes listed as "PVC".

I am bulding my own 12-15 foot trailer and my car cant tow much weight aswell as there is no real sized capers for the parameters I am looking for. So I will design my own. carbon fiber well build itout on pegs and rent a tank of epansion foam and fill the gap. clean up right away the foam is stickyclean up and have great carbon walls there is like 300,000 types out there so expaimant lighter for interior works best . your not building a stealth air liner so dont worry about that
