Hi, Im planning to paint interior wall paint on my 1977 Boler 1700.
it has stain and smell.
i am thinking just paint over that and look better like inside house.

but im not sure what kind of paint should i use for the inside wall. the wall has some fablic thing? foam? some type of insllation from factory.

any house interior latex paint i can use or automotive quolity paint use im not sure what can i use.

please any one advise me what i can use.

thank you.

Tak, The liner on your Boler is very likely Ensolite. This is a black foam, about 1/4" thick and covered with an off white vinyl. Since it is flexable, it is not a good idea to paint it with something that will dry hard. Try to find a vinyl compatable paint.
I found a video on painting vinyl:

The paint he uses in the video:

Video How To Caulk and Paint Ensolite Seams

Tak:

I am assuming that you are talking about just painting the rubber/insulation/Ensolite, and NOT any of the fiberglass. Fiberglass would require much more preparation and care than the Ensolite to get a decent finish, and I would highly recommend boat paint designed for fiberglass if you are planning on doing tat, although I know that others have used different paint.

Painting the Ensolite is quite easy, and I have put up a video on caulking the joints and painting at

The MOST IMPORTANT PART OF PAINTING THE ENSOLITE IS PREPARATION! Make sure that you clean the Ensolite as well as you can. Use Spray 9, rubbing alcohol, degreasing cleaners etc. so the paint has a good, clean surface to stick to.

Make sure that you use a good quality primer, like Zinsser Bullseye 1-2-3, then paint over that with a good quality acrylic (water based) house paint. We like Benjamin Moore products. We used 2 coats in our Trillium. Looks great.

Go at it, and good luck!

Curt
