I use this one. Actually 2 of these, one on the truck and one on the bike's rack attached to Scamp. Works very good.

As far as tools, anytime I am towing, I bring a multimeter and some basic electrical tools and supplies with me. I keep a tool box in the camper, loaded at all times with the stuff I tend to use.

Our LIL Snoozy has a Tie Down Engineering axle that has the quick change spindle. I don't think your Scamp would have this feature. However some people carry extra bearing sets. You could do that and maybe a spare hub.
