Paint peeling fix

Hello all,

I recently picked up a 1992 Bigfoot 17’ and there’s a spot I don’t know what to do with. It looks like a repaired spot with different paint that’s cracking and peeling (sorry for upside down pictures). What’s the correct fix here? Is it urgent, or can I polish and wax the trailer and deal with it a year down the road?

Thanks
Ben

If it doesn’t leak, then you aren't in any hurry.

I had the belly band of my first Trillium as exposed fibreglass, (no paint at all) for a couple of years. I didn't see any issues as a result.

The grey colour that I see below the peeling paint looks like primer, so the glass is still covered.
