Project : continued, Traveleze Royal Traveler project

I have not been much interested in continuing this project until lately. So here are some repairs and recreations I have done in the past few months. The front booth and floor rotted because it was setting in a field with a smashed front window. A lot of the plywood is delaminated and being replaced. I found a close to size louvered window and fiberglass stone guard for the front but had to make a new inner frame to hold it.
Youll see the sides of the door opening I used 1x2x6 lumber and routed a groove to accept the poly wall, and used a piece of 1/4 aluminum milling as a threshold. Once I wrestled it into position with caulk I capped it with a 1x2x6 cut to size and angle, crewed and caulked into the uprights, then capped with a piece of flashing. All wood finished with Pickled Oak stain and urethane. I'll post pics after this article as the pics wouldn't load easily here.

These are miscellaneous pictures of what I'm doing so far. This is the tiny 20 inch wide door stuck on with a few screws to the installed door frame opening and the inside of the frame area

More pics of the inside of the traveleze. All the window interior frame plywood finishes need replacing. the new frame on the front window opening. I made a new wood frame for the skylite as well, and a pic of the old water tank which worked with air pressure which Ill be removing and replacing with a poly tank and water pump.

Hi. I realize this post is older but I just got lucky enough to find a 1966 Royal Traveleze and would love someone I can get advice from or maybe ask a few questions. I was told was the trailer I have was a prototype. It needs a full restoration but I am so excited to start on it.

I would be more than happy to answer questions. I'm not on here all the time but I will check now and then. Seems like a lot of what they did was Overkill. like putting a ground on the copper plumbing. You should also know I'm using a climate right heat up when I'm installing that has to vent out the refrigerator vent. I'll try to take some pictures of that and post them.

Your trailer looks like it was in great condition. The one I have is completely gutted out now. I pulled what was left out. I am cleaning the inside, patching all the holes and then removing the wood around the windows, which doesn’t look easy. I have a lot of cleaning left to do but I can’t wait to finish it. All most done with this camper. I have to adapt a square tube bumper, redo the waste tank valve and figure what to do about no grey tank. What does make me nervous is not having a break-out window in case of a fire. I couldn't find one reasonably priced one to fit one so maybe a fire extinguisher in the back area. Plumbing is done, holding and street connection.
One thing I forgot to mention is instead of an in-set entry door I extended it outward to square things out and give a bit more space inside.

Sorry I havent replied lately but Hope your camper is progressing. They are hard to find parts for. Had to rebuild the porcelain toilet, works well now. Took out the original refrigerator and heater. Got a smaller fridge and installed a heat pump above the fridge, below those is more storage now.

Here are 3 windows redone. Front is a reduced size crank out (broke the pane removing the old), rear is a newer style found locally, it fit but had to make adjustments. Interior window is to show redone window frames, clean-up aluminum windows with led reflective lighting.

This took about 5 sheets of plywood stained w pickled oak stain, close but not a perfect match.

Not sure what to do in this case but the waste bolts were rusted badly. Finally got them off but wasn't easy or clean. Pics are upside down for some reason.
