Refurb stove top

What kind of paint finish should I use on 1984 Scamp pan under stove burners? I am going to sand it down and repaint it but I need to know what kind of paint (enamel?) to use that is tolerant to the heat from the gas burners and where is the best place to buy. I will repaint it white as it already is. Thank you.

I haven't done mine yet, but all of your local automotive stores (Autozone, Advanced, O'Reily's) sell high heat paint in a spray can. Local hardware stores should also.

Those high temp paints work pretty good, they will off gas a bit when the first get hot, and some require heat to properly set.

Auto parts stores sell the paint for engines and exhaust customization. There is also black wood stove paint that is high temp. I saw your planning to go with white but thought I would mention the black alternative.

Chrome high temp is sort of iffy as to how "chrome" it looks and a bit harder to work with and get a good coat.

I repainted the rusted chrome stove top in our Burro 3 years ago and it has been just fine. Went with black "high heat" paint designed for engines, as Rogerdat has suggested. It has held up well and does not show spills very easily.

here is what i would use.

It will smell until it cures. I would paint it and then bake it in an oven until cured. If you don't bake it I doubt you will like the smell in your confined trailer.
