Shiny body

I have seen some photos of fiberglass bodies that shine like a mirror.

I used Meguir's M/732 Marine/RV One Step Compound last summer. It did a nice job, but the body was not as shiny as I've seen on some photos.

How do you get the body to be so shiny?

How shiney do you want it? If you have a chalky build up....you may need to find a product with some light abrasives before applying wax. I have a 12 yrs old Casita that shine by using a product called Bow to Stern.....easiest wax I've ever used...can do entire trailer in an hour. I use it on our car and truck as well.

Good luck.

Peter; you have probably seen some fiberglass campers that had Zep floor wax, or a similar floor wax, put on them. It makes the trailer very shiny but I have read that after some time the wax starts to turn yellow and then it's a lot of work to strip it off. It was all the rage for awhile, but seems to have died off now, probably due to it yellowing. I believe some people dd not have the yellow problem, or didn't mind stripping the old wax and applying new.

Hi,
Maguire has a 3 step kit I used to refurbish our camper. The 1st bottle takes off any stains, scratches and oxidation, the 2nd puts the polish back on and the 3rd puts a shiny protective coat on. You don't have to do this every yr. Just clean and reapply your favorite polish. After performing the 3 step process the camper looked new again

Yea....Meguir's is a great product. I just got too darn old to do all that waxing like when I was younger. The BTS product is easy....looks great and work well. Good luck whatever you do.....have fun.

ZEP wet look floor polish

Get a gallon of ZEP wet look floor polish. Apply with a spray bottle, wipe away excess. Lasts a year or so between applications. A gallon should last forever. Get it at your local big box home store.

Shiny Gel Coat

Hi,
I tried a new product on my gel coat and was very pleased:

3M Marine and RV Gel Coat Light Cutting Polish & Wax
#36109

Came out like new. Used a regular automotive polisher.

Was the regular automotive polisher in addition to the 3M?

I used the Maguire's Marine and RV polish compound and a medium sponge pad on an electric Harbor freight buffer. I ended up going back with something finer, don't recall what right off, I think it was 100. I coated it with RejeX polymer and its as slick as any you can expect. I only did the roof, while the A/C was removed for replacement. Its time consuming, too me a week to do the roof on my 21RB Bigfoot.

Prior to the roof, I did the front, but didn't have the RejeX and used Xymol car polish instead. Not near as slick as the RejeX. The front also took several days, I had to empty the front cargo box and put a step stool inside it to stand on to reach the uppermost areas.

Shiny body

I used Meguiars 56 RV & MARINE WAX. It came out really shiny after we removed the oxidation. Just used a random orbital buffer to apply and remove it

For years we have used a product called The Solution. Just wash the trailer. Spray on wipe off and it is shiny and looks new. Our Casita is a 2007 and people think it is new. No buffing, no wax, no stripping it off, no yellowing no hard work, no chalking and water runs off of it. I have told many about this but it sounds so simple people thinks it won't work, but it does. It lasts a long time. The time it takes is how fast you can spray it on and wipe it off. Usually about an hour for my hubby.

We used “3M Marine Cleaner and wax” using a 6” wool pad on a drill. Looked good after this part, glistened after the wax.
