Sprung frame?

Hi; I am Daniel from Vermont.
I own a 2001 Casita 16 foot.
I hit a bump in the road, trailer came off the hitch, and hit the pavement.
Afterward, the door was misaligned, with a two inch opening at one end of the bottom of the door.
I am told that the frame may be "sprung".
Is there anyway to fix this?

Daniel, sounds like the frame is either bent or broken. And its likely fixable. Have a utility trailer shop look at it. And post pictures if you want more feedback.

Sorry to hear about that!

If it came off the hitch, then something was wrong there. Make sure it's properly "locked"!

There's really no such thing as killing it, unless it burns to the ground. It's only a matter of what you're willing to fix.

Take it to an auto frame shop . They know how to repair / straighten frames

Frame repair ain't cheap.
Door open space is one-half inch.
I'm thinking a door repair only may be the solution, due to high cost of frame repair.
Single axle trailer tracks good... as I drove it 2,000 miles after incident.
Would adding weatherstripping around door be a good fix?

Depends in how you define “ Ain’t Cheap “
I had the frame on one of my trailers straightened , reinforced, painted and undercoated for a tad over $ 400 at our local auto body / frame shop

$400 is very doable. I was told by repair shop it could be "Thousands"!

Look for a trailer place that actually builds trailers, or one that repairs horse trailers. People that actually know trailers. Usually any farm tractor place will know of some in your area.
