SunVent Solar Powered Ventilator

Has anybody out there in Fiberglass RV land tried one of these solar powered ventilation fans? I'm thinking it might be handy to keep our beloved Trail Mite from getting so stuffy while parked. I'm also thinking of using one on the fiberglass cap on our tow vehicle, a Toyota Tacoma.

I have considered something like this for my bathroom, but didn't get one since it would be continuously on when the sun hits it, and never on if we parked in the shade, (like we usually do).

Good idea for your truck cap, though, as long as you have another vent to let the air in that this thing will exhaust.

Like Frederick, I too park mostly amongst the trees, etc. But, I can definitely see where it would be useful it parts of the country.

It doesn't move very much air. Most fans are rated in cubic feet per minute. This one says cubic feet per hour. Converted to CFM, it comes out to only 11. An $8 computer fan will do that much and more with very little current draw.

It's not just the fan, it's the solar, so batteries (depending on model) and the mounting -- Since these are usually designed to fit on boat decks, it should have a system to prevent water leakage -- By the time one adds all that to the computer fan...

In fact, the heart of it may well be a computer fan!

Not intended to replace a fantastical fan, just to vent moisture and odors from bathrooms, small marine bunk rooms, etc. Even in shade, it's going to move some air.

I have bought a similar solar vent from Ebay. I would describe the airflow like butterfly wings beating. Not too effective but the picture of the one you have is a bit different. Once out of the sunlight it doesn't run
