Yeah, I wouldn't have believe it and would have check Snopes.com if Gina hadn't reported how great it worked to remove all that tar the previous owner had applied to the roof of her Leocraft. Cool! Worth a try certainly. A can/bottle of coke is cheaper than a lot of stuff that won't work!

And Gina did say Coke... not Pepsi.

First I try LA Awesome, a dollar store favorite. If that doesn't work I try Goo Gone. Last resort, Acetone. Good luck, Raz

COKE - no harm to the fiberglass either if its left on - not like some of the other products out there.

My go-to solvent is mineral spirits on a rag. It is pretty mild and not too flammable. Then lacquer thinner, then acetone, with a diversion to rubbing alcohol if nothing else seems to dissolve what I'm after.

If that still doesn't work, drink some alcohol - not rubbing alcohol, though.

Tried diet Pepsi that my wife had. Nothing. Tried a new bottle of coke. Nothing. Acetone worked the best. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Finished off the coke with a little rum.

I've used orange oil based Goo Gone and it worked well, and is milder than acetone. The whole front of my trailer was plastered with road tar after my Alaska trip.

Great stuff as long as you are patient and give it time to work.
